Sale of models to help the rebuilding of a school in Haiti
Liens sans Frontières | 3 January 2011One member of Liens sans Frontières at the starting point of the Route du Rhum-la Banque Postale race in Brittany; another member of LSF at the arrival in Guadeloupe.
What do they have in common? They are cousins, have not seen each other for several years and decided on the occasion of the Route du Rhum – La Banque postale to meet up and join their humanitarian beliefs, energy and goodwill in order to give a hand to financing the reconstruction of a school at Léogâne in Haiti. Our thanks go to them and to all who share their commitment.

POINTE-À-PITRE.
The campaign to help the victims of the earthquake in Haiti continues. For some days now, members of the humanitarian association Liens sans Frontières have taken up positions on the quays of the marina to sell models of trimarans. The model boats have been manufactured by the Breton company, Mélévoiles. “This effort is part of a project taking place with the association Haïti Vaillante to help rebuild the primary school Fabre-Nicolas Geffrard, at Léogâne” , explains association secretary Jonathan Nagam. Set up in 2007, Liens sans Frontières has worked in Pakistan from its establishment. Focusing on education and access to schools, the association helps young people there finance their schooling.
“We are helping a village at an altitude of 2500 meters in the Shimshall region. We try to go back every year. There is a language barrier, but the language of humanitarianism is universal. We started off sponsoring a young man from there, and since then we have been sponsoring 17 children from his village aged 6 to 12.” |
